Forensics Workbook
1.1 In Class activity: Learn how to safely light a Bunsen Burner. Draw and label your Bunsen burner in your notebook to earn your Bunsen License.
1.2 In Class Activity: Making observations. Set up a Bunsen burner with a tripod so you can heat a beaker of water. Make observations of pink crystals in the heated water. Draw your set up.
1.3 In Class Activity: Measure your foot length, shoe length, and height. Record your data on the white board so the whole class can see it. Copy the chart from the white board into your Forensics workbook.
1.4 In class Activity: Learn about how to make a graph. Practice making a graph.
Homework: Use your data to fill in the graphs on page 9 and 10 in your workbook
1.5 In class Activity: Learn about fingerprints. Make prints of your own fingers and identify what kind of print pattern you have.
1.6 In class activity: perform flame tests to test soil samples for various metals
1.7 In class activity: Use measurements of mass and volume to calculate density
1.8 In class and HOMEWORK: Finishing your Forensics Workbook, In class you should have completed all the activities and questions on pages 3,5,6,9,10,11,13,14. In class on Thursday you are to work on all the questions and activities on pages 16, 18, 20, and 21. The books will be collected in class on Friday.
